A small group gathered together at Limiar during a retreat weekend — sound, nature and shared time in central Portugal

PRACTITIONER PREVIEW WEEKEND

A weekend to rest — and imagine what you could create here.

Three slow days at Limiar for practitioners, facilitators, teachers and people interested in the retreat world who want time to rest, reconnect with nature and experience a small retreat space from the inside.

25–27 September 2026 · Central Portugal · Maximum 8 participants

Come primarily as a guest. Sound, nature, shared food and unstructured time shape the weekend — with space, if relevant to you, to explore what you might one day bring to Limiar with your own community.

2 nights · all meals · guided experiences · sound · nature · from €195

You spend a lot of time holding space for others.

This weekend is an invitation to experience the other side of that equation.

For three days, you do not need to lead a class, host a group or produce anything. You can settle into Limiar as a guest: eat together, spend time outside, experience sound, rest and allow the rhythm of the place to do some of the work.

And if part of you is also looking for a small retreat venue, a future collaboration or simply a place where you might one day bring your community, there will be time to explore that too.

No pitch. No conference. No pressure to turn the weekend into a professional opportunity. First, come and experience it.

Is this weekend for you?

It may be a good fit if you are:

  • a yoga or movement teacher
  • a sound practitioner
  • a somatic or holistic facilitator
  • a meditation teacher
  • a coach, therapist or wellbeing practitioner
  • someone who already leads groups or retreats
  • someone seriously interested in experiencing the retreat world before perhaps creating something of their own

You do not need to arrive with a project, business plan or future retreat already in mind.

The weekend is intentionally open enough to be worthwhile simply as a restorative small-group retreat.

A spacious weekend rhythm

The programme gives the weekend a shape without filling every hour. Rest and unstructured time are part of the experience, not gaps between activities.

FRIDAY — ARRIVING

Arrival from approximately 17:00.

Time to settle into your accommodation.

Shared dinner, informal welcome and a gentle opening sound immersion.

Nothing demanding is scheduled. The purpose of the first evening is simply to arrive.

SATURDAY — LISTENING, REST & POSSIBILITY

Slow breakfast.

A guided Art of Noticing experience on the land using sensory awareness, active listening and simple encounters with the natural environment.

Shared lunch.

A substantial period of genuine free time for sleeping, reading, walking, talking or doing nothing.

Later in the day, according to weather and group rhythm: Forest Council / listening circle; a short walkthrough of Limiar as a retreat venue; informal Q&A for anyone curious about bringing groups, collaborating or referring people in the future.

Shared dinner.

Extended evening Sound Journey with gongs, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, tuning forks and other acoustic instruments.

SUNDAY — RETURNING

Gentle body-based morning practice.

Breakfast.

Final nature / integration experience.

Shared lunch and closing circle.

Departure approximately 16:00.

The exact flow may move between the activity space, forest, river and fireside according to weather and the needs of the group. The rhythm will remain intentionally spacious.

And if you are thinking beyond this weekend…

Some guests will come simply because they need the weekend.

Others may also be curious about what Limiar could become for their own community.

After experiencing the place, suitable participants can explore possibilities for 2027 such as:

  • bringing their own small group or retreat to Limiar;
  • co-creating a future retreat or workshop;
  • referring people from their community to selected Limiar programmes.

There is no obligation to pursue any of these paths.

The purpose of the September weekend is to experience Limiar first.
